Ronald Tintin and the project Ronning Against Cancer will
participate at Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September 2017 with the
theme " Better Access to
Care for Chlidren & Adolescents with Cancer Everywhere” (Each year, more than 150,000 children are diagnosed with cancer)

Cancer is the uncontrolled growth and spread of cells.
It can affect almost any part of the body. The growths often invade surrounding
tissue and can metastasize to distant sites.There are more than 100 types of cancer.
Cancer remains the leading cause of death
from disease among children. The major
types of cancers in children ages 0 to 14 years are acute
lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), brain and other central nervous system (CNS) tumors, and neuroblastoma.
What
is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month ?
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Childhood Cancer Awareness Month during the
month of September 2017 is celebrated
annually to raise awareness and to express support for children and adolescents
with cancer, survivors and their families.
Why
Childhood Cancer Awareness is important ?
Each year, more than 150,000 children are
diagnosed with cancer – a disease that touches all
regions of the world and impacts countless families and communities. With
access to quality care, more than 80% of children with cancer can survive,
living full and healthy lives. However, many children in low-income and middle
income countries do not receive or complete care, and, as a result, over 90% of
childhood cancer deaths occur in low resource settings.
On Childhood Cancer Awareness Month during the
month of September, we pause to recognize contributions from advocates around
the world and call for renewed collaboration to care for children with cancer
globally.
